Scripture of the week

2 Nephi 31:20

“Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.”

Message

Today we will talk about the scriptures…

The Scripture are the word of God often manifested through the writings of prophets.

Reading our scriptures daily shows God that we love him and care about what he has to say.

I was not always the best at doing all the church things I was supposed to do, but I did read my scriptures every day and I know that it has strengthened my testimony so much and helped me to keep the holy ghost in my life even when I was not doing everything I should have been doing.

Another thing that is important is to make sure your scripture reading is actually useful. You can take notes, highlight Scripture, and study with a purpose in mind. For me my scripture study is so much more valuable when I study with a question in mind.

I encourage everyone to read daily, and if you are already reading daily think of ways you can make your reading more valuable.

Here are some additional things you can study throughout the week…

1 Nephi 1

2 Nephi 31

Alma 17

Taking care of temporal needs

To go along with studying Scripture we can also study how to take care of our temporal needs. Always remember that buying books or courses are an investment into yourself. Take some time to learn something new about personal finance or a new skill to help you make more money. Education is the best investment.
